Norhill Bungalow Home Tour 2014
It’s time…the bi-annual Norhill Bungalow tour is Saturday, October 18th, 2014. Noon-6pm.
Advanced tickets can be purchased now for $20, or procrastinate and pay $25 at the door.
Norhill is a bungalow neighborhood. A few cottages and foursquares are mixed in, but the predominant style is the Craftsman bungalow. Many of the homes of this 1920’s neighborhood came from the Sears catalog. You bought a kit, with everything included and paid craftsmen to assemble it.
Norhill is also deed-restricted, and the first of Height’s 7 historic districts. The deed restrictions and historic designation have kept the bungalows from being demolished and replaced with who-knows-what. It remains a cohesive neighborhood with a strong civic group.
The homes on this tour are all renovated and/or expanded for today’s lifestyle.
If you don’t yet live in the Heights, come visit the home tour to get a feel for this historic district.
Rebekah Mayfield ( a Realtor in my office) is the chairman of this year’s tour. Her committee picked 6 homes for the tour.
Details and photos of the homes are on the attachednewsletter, Norhill News
