Lindale Park 2nd Half Home Sales
I love the quirkiness of Lindale Park. The homes in here are relatively inexpensive still, but the area has big, wide curbed streets. The homes range from ranch style homes to the predominant brick cottages with tall peaked roofs. (A miniature West U, as I have said before) From beautifully restored homes homes to those in need of renovation.

The table needs some explanation. Home sales have only averaged ~4/month, so I used sales from the 2nd half of year instead of last quarter to get a significant amount of data.
About half the homes sold were one bath homes, mostly just two bedrooms. The other homes were split between 1.5 and 2 baths. (These are lumped together as 2 bath homes in table.) There aren’t many large homes here.
I also excluded from the table, the really rough homes. Those described as tear-downs or lot value. Very few homes are torn down here; most are remodeled. Asking price for tear-downs start at about $175K.
Lot sizes are typically 5000-7000 SF, although a lot of homes are built on multiple lots. If you are looking for a large home site, this is a good place to look. The recent light rail line is going to be a big plus for the area.
Oak Forest would be a good alternative to Lindale if you can’t find what you want. Compare recent Oak Forest Home Prices here.
