1539 Rutland St – Heights Renovation
HDT Builder’s third renovation in the Heights is complete!
1539 Rutland St, in Houston Heights is a Victorian home that has been transformed from a neglected house to a show piece.
April 2016 Update: All of these homes by HDT have sold long ago but they have 4 new homes at 212-224 W 24th St. Prices:$650K to $750K
The house is 4142 SF 4/4.5/2 on a huge 8800 SF lot, priced at $1,435,000.
The 2 minute video above shows the final photos after renovation and expansion.
Being in a historic district (Historic Heights West) means that the front exterior had to remain historically accurate. The interior house was gutted and expanded. The downstairs master is a separate wing with it’s own covered porch.
Room for a pool, if this is your dream.
This Heights home is rare in having two bedrooms downstairs: a guest bedroom with full bath off the front porch, and a wing over looking the yard as a master suite. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, each with its own bath, plus a huge flex space.
HDT Builders is known for artistic finishes, high end fixtures and appliances. Dee (the creative partner, is also the day-to-day supervisor).
Brick columns and sidewalk edging and parking pad were built by mason Salvador Davila…a true craftsman. His masonry is top-notch. HDT uses him whenever possible.
Alley access two-car garage.
A Mediterranean Revival remodel by HDT Builders is available at 1845 Harvard, as is a new construction home at 1843 Harvard.
