The Ultimate Arts and Crafts Style Building
Before returning to more mundane real estate blog posts, let me show you the ultimate Arts and Crafts style building I saw in Yellowstone. The Old Faithful Inn was built in 1903, when the Arts and Craft movement was at it’s peak. This movement away from Victorian style homes resulted in Craftsman style bungalows, Mission homes, Prairie and Pueblo homes. It also brought about this rustic resort style.
If this building isn’t the ultimate use of natural materials, I don’t know what is. It is a 7 story building made of local lodge pole pines and features a 7 story 4-sided stone fireplace. Split log floors, shingled walls, Craftsman style furniture. An amazing century old building overlooking old Faithful Geyser.
