Light Rail is Coming to Lindale Park

Yes, light rail is actually coming to a neighborhood near you! Right up N Main and Fulton St.
This will be an amazing transformation for the Near Northside area of Houston. Lindale Park (the Hidden jewel of Houston) will finally be connected to the rest of the world with the Graceland Station. This will be one of 7 stations between UH Downtown and Northline Mall. The Northline Mall transit center will eventually go to Bush Intercontinental.

Now, I have never been a fan of light rail. So far all it’s done is let the Med Center people chug around and block auto traffic. Okay, it does have some use. But, this will connect it to a real neighborhood and eventually to the airport! A train to the airport? Amazing!

However, I am jumping ahead of myself and Metro. See Metro Map

I have always loved this part of town. Funky old buildings and homes like the Heights, but without the Yuppies to drive up prices. The train will bring them in now though. Get ready for changes. The little Lindale Park cottages will take on a different perspective. Buy the little Lindale Cottage now. Prices will go up by 2012 when you could be walking to the Graceland Station to take the rail. Click here to see my page on Lindale Park.

The new construction that boomed two years ago, will again see a jump in popularity. The builders just need to be able to get loans to start up construction again.A quick blurb on this from Metro

Okay, now for some commercialism here. You can buy this recent construction contemporary townhome on Quitman St and not wait for the construction to start again. Talk about close to the Quitman Station, it’s on Quitman!

309 C Quitman – Contemporary Recent Construction – The Architects’s Own Home.

Designed, built and owned by the architect. TONS of high-end upgrades! Glass mosaic accent wall, shelf sink, granite, stainless appliances, sound system in each room with Nuvo touch screen controls, roof-top terrace, skyline views, much more. Walk to Northside light rail (under construction now). Near the Heights, Downtown Houston & the Med Center, this area is slow now, but will be HOT when rail is running. Call to see!
