White Oak Bayou Flooding in Heights

White Oak Bayou Overflows its Banks Again

The “Heights” is called that for a reason…its elevation is higher than the original town of Houston. So, there may be some street flooding like anywhere in Houston, but the bayou is the only place you have to worry about real flooding. Here are a few photos of White Oak Bayou, in the Heights.

This section of White Oak Bayou comes up to its banks during heavy storms but doesn’t normally cover the street. This time it did flood White Oak Blvd. They had to open the back gate of the White Oak Condos since the entrance was under water.
