History of Mangum Manor:

Mangum Manor Homes-Typical

This subdivision began in 1954 with the purchase of 109 acres of land from the Sauer Ranch. It was previously prairie grass and 150 year old oaks. At the time it was just west of Oak Forest.
400 brick homes were built, with land set aside for a park (now Mangum Manor Park) and a shopping center.
Minimum lot size was 60 x 110 feet, though some were much deeper.
More details on history can be found on the Civic Club Association History Page

Mangum Manor homes are being remodeled, but as of yet, there are no new homes being built here.

The park is a pride of the neighborhood. It was hit hard by the drought a couple of years ago and lost a lot of trees. The Civic Club replanted quite a few, but the absence of the giant old oaks is still felt.
Mangum Manor Park was Decimated by Drought, But Has Been Replanted
If looking for a 1950’s home, this is a good area to look, as well as adjacent Oak Forest. Prices are escalating in both. Timbergrove Manor (inside the loop) and Spring Branch (West of the loop) are also options.

Let me know if I can be of help in buying or selling an area home.
